The Friends of Margaret Reed Crosby Memorial Library and Cultural Center will present Homeschooling Basics, in two Facebook live streams providing information about homeschooling and answering questions parents may have regarding homeschooling for the upcoming school year on July 19 and Aug. 2.
The live streams will take place at 2 p.m. Megan Miller, children’s librarian at the Margaret Reed Crosby Memorial Library, said the streams will be available on the Friends of Margaret Reed Crosby Memorial Library Facebook page for later viewing for those who cannot tune in at 2 p.m.
“If they miss the program on the 2nd, they are more than welcome to tune in later,” Miller said.
Miller said the program is being organized by veteran mothers who homeschool their children and as such have experience with the homeschooling process.
Parents can submit homeschooling-related questions they may have before or during the program.
“If parents want to submit questions, they can call in or post on the Facebook page,” Miller said.
Miller said the best way to submit questions is to directly message The Friends of Margaret Reed Crosby Memorial Library and Cultural Center Facebook page before the stream or comment on the live stream as it takes place.
She said during the live stream curriculum, socialization opportunities, resources and support groups will be discussed along with ideas and tips about where to begin the homeschooling process.
Miller said the length of the live stream will depend on the amount of questions being asked and answered.
“I think it’s gonna be fun,” Miller said.
