Brookshire denied bond in case of Willie Jones

A suspect in the case of Willie Jones, a Picayune resident who has been missing since July 6, was denied bond during his initial appearance in Pearl River County Justice Court Tuesday morning.
Austin Brookshire, 18, was arrested on July 17 on a murder warrant, after an investigation into the case of Willie Jones determined his alleged involvement in a murder.
Tuesday, Brookshire sat in cuffs within the Pearl River County Justice Court quietly until the judge, Ben Breland, asked several questions pertaining to his financial situation.
Brookshire, of Rankin County, was denied bond by Breland, and appointed a public defender at the conclusion of the court proceedings.
