Two vehicle collision ends in fatality

Two Picayune residents were involved in a head-on collision that ended in a fatality Friday afternoon.
According to a press release from Trooper First Class Cal Robertson of the Mississippi Highway Patrol, the collision occurred Friday at about 2:47 p.m., in Hancock County along Highway 43 near the intersection of Lee Town Road.
Troopers arrived on scene to find a 2004 Honda Accord driven by 17-year-old Emily Goss of Picayune, was northbound on Hwy. 43 S. when her vehicle crossed the center line and collided with a southbound 2016 Chevrolet Silverado being driven by 35-year-old Michael Roberts, of Picayune.
Roberts was transported to Hancock Medical Center for treatment of moderate injuries. Goss, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced at the location of the collision, the release states.
This incident remains under investigation.
