Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 24th, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Bethlehem Baptist Church for Beatrice Durr, who transitioned to her heavenly home on Saturday, November 12, 2018 in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Beatrice “Madea” Durr, 77, was born February 26, 1941 in Quinten, MS to the late Uzziah and Lillie Mae Bailey. She was educated in the Franklin County School System and later married the late Anderson Durr. She was employed at McNeilL Travel Center until she retired.
She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Louis Thomas Sr.
Beatrice leaves to cherish many loving memories, her six children, Jannie (Harold) Rancifer Mickel, Annie Richard, Jeanette Hart, Cynthia (Deon) McDougle and Jacquarian Durr all of Picayune, Mississippi; James (Carolyn) Rancifer Jr. of Bude, Mississippi; two stepchildren, Hyenthia Durr and Larry Durr of Picayune, Mississippi; 16 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 4 siblings, Eugene (Willie Mae) Bailey and Rickie Watts; of Kirby, Mississippi; Loretta Franklin Watts, Sacramento, California, and J.B. (Felecia) Watts, Lumberton, North Carolina, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Beatrice was preceded in death by her parents, Uzziah and Lillie Mae Bailey; husband, Anderson Durr; three siblings, Mary Jones, Leonard Bailey and Audrey Collins.
Visitation will be one hour prior to service time. Interment will be at the Picayune Cemetery.
Repast will be held at The Grand 217 S. Curran Ave. Picayune, Mississippi.
