Memorial Services for Sharon Elizabeth Horne Woodmansee, age 81, of Carriere, MS, who passed away Thursday, August 30, 2018, will be held Saturday, September 15, 2018, at 11:00 am at First Presbyterian Church, 401 Fifth Avenue, Picayune, MS 39466.

Visitation will be Saturday, September 15, 2018 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at First Presbyterian Church.

Arrangements are under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.

Pastor Chris O’Brien will officiate the service.

Sharon was a graduate of Arizona State University with a Degree of Bachelor of Arts in Education, and was a member of the Chi Omega women’s sorority.

A lifelong educator, she taught both middle and high school English, and later Adult Literacy. She was a devout member of the First Presbyterian Church of Picayune, and a member of Hide-A-Lake Garden Club.  Sharon grew up on the family farm near Ross, ND and was very proud of her farming heritage. Her warm smile, gentle heart, and quick wit will be missed by her family and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ervin Horne and Leila Carcruff Horne; her husband of 57 years, Glenn Edward Woodmansee; and her sister, Dr. Linda Horne.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Lynn Gatewood and husband William; her son, Tom Woodmansee and wife Tina; 4 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; her brother, Kent Horne and wife Janice, and their families.
