Graveside Funeral Services for Mary Jackanell McQueen Smith, age 77, of Picayune, MS, who passed away Friday, August 17, 2018, will be held Monday, August 20, 2018, at 2:00 pm at New Palestine Cemetery.

Burial will be in New Palestine Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.

Rev. Dan Young will officiate the service.

A native of Picayune, MS, she was a retired Teacher. Jackanell spent her life making a difference in the lives of a lot of people and animals. Jackanell always had the courage of her convictions. Her example has shown that having compassion for the less fortunate in this world takes true strength. Jackanell was a loving God mother, sister-in-law, aunt, cousin, and friend, who will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack McQueen and Mary Harvis Necaise McQueen; her husband, H.K. Smith, Jr.; and her brother, William Douglas McQueen.

Left to cherish her memory are her God daughter, Kayeli (Chad Calvin) Farmer; sister-in-law, Sandra McQueen; her niece and nephew, Katherine Gayle McQueen-Turner and William Sean (Kelly) McQueen; her cousin, Larry Frierson; and several other cousins.
