The Knights of Columbus will host the Annual Community Benefit Barbeque on May 10 at the Knights of Columbus Hall, located at 408 Carroll St. in Picayune.
Each year the club holds the event to raise funds that will benefit local non-profit organizations in town.
Bill Burns, who is coordinating the event, said the plates will be sold from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. and will include a half a chicken, barbeque beans, coleslaw, roll and butter for $10.
Burns said proceeds from the barbeque will benefit local non-profits including Sav-A-Life, Bridgeway Apartments, The ARC of Pearl River County and several others.
Community members purchasing a plate can either choose to dine-in or take their meals to go, Burns said.
While tickets are not officially on sale, if a business or organization would like five or more plates, they are asked to call Bill Burns at 504-421-2862 to make that order. Additionally, if anyone would like to have five or more plates delivered, they are also asked to call Burns prior to the day of the event.
Burns said The Knights of Columbus supports local charities in various ways, including by holding the annual barbeque.
“It’s a terrific amount of pride to dedicate your time for such a worthy cause and help those who are not able to support themselves,” he said.
Individuals who would like to purchase a plate the day of the fundraiser are welcome to do so.
