Funeral Services for Abi Melissa Johnston, age 90, of Picayune, Mississippi, who passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 22, 2018, will be held Friday, April 27, 2018, at 2:00 pm at McDonald Funeral Home Chapel.

Visitation will be Friday, April 27, 2018 from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm at McDonald Funeral Home. 

Burial will be in New Palestine Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.

Dr. Josh Braddy will officiate the service.

Abi was born on October 15, 1927 in Pine Grove, Mississippi. She married the love of her life, Bobby on August 4,1945 and had two sons. Abi was an active member of First Baptist Church of Picayune, serving in the children’s ministry.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Bobby Johnston; her parents, Jim and Eugenia Evans; her brothers, John Evans and J.D. Evans; her son, Greg Johnston; and her life-long friend, Nell McQueen.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Bruce Johnston of Picayune; her six grandchildren, Donnie Johnston, David Johnston, Jennifer Johnston, Sarah (Matt) Jacoby, Nicholas (Susan) Johnston, and Ashley (Brent) Allison; her nine great grandchildren, Kristen Johnston, Miles (Angela) Johnston, Candace (Chris) Rogers, Sierra (Michael) Raynore, Ariel (Justin) Slater, Avery Allison, Peyton Allison, William Johnston, and Emma Johnston; 14 great great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, along with her caregiver and friend, Sheila Smith.
