Funeral Services for Elaine “Gigi” Welsh, age 72, of Carriere, Mississippi, who passed away Thursday, March 22, 2018, will be held Sunday, March 25, 2018, at 3:00 pm at Union Baptist Church.

Visitation will be Sunday, March 25, 2018 from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm at Union Baptist Church.

Burial will be in Union Baptist Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.

Bro. Brian Tatum will officiate the service, assisted by Rev. Ted Strain and Bro. Steven Nelson.

A native of Caesar Community, Mississippi, she was a retired Principal at Pearl River Central Elementary and a member of Union Baptist Church. Elaine was a loving wife, mother, “Gigi”, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, and friend, who will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her. Elaine’s love for children and others, was her driving force in life. She touched numerous lives through her work in education and various church ministries.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl Gipson and Margaret Gill Gipson.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 48 years, Don Welsh; her sons, Seth Welsh and Reid (Amber) Welsh; two grandsons, Aulden and Ace Welsh; her sister, Vicki (Steve) Nelson; her nephew, Bro. Steven (Michelle) Nelson; her sister-in-law, Jane Lambert; her brother-in-law, Bud (Teresa) Welsh; and her several nieces and nephews.
