School schedules for winter weather Jan. 16

This story has been updated to reflect PRCC and Heritage Christian Academy will now be closed until Thursday morning. All schools in the Pearl River County School District will be closed on Thursday.
School districts in Pearl River County will be closing early today, and some will remain closed for the next day or two.
Schools in the Pearl River County School District will close early today. Assistant to the Superintendent Sherri Quarterman said the Lower Elementary, Upper Elementary and Endeavor School will release all students at 1:30 p.m. on Jan. 16.
Students at the PRC High School and PRC Middle School will be released at 2:30 on Jan. 16.
All schools in that District will remain closed on Jan. 17 and Jan. 18 and all after school activities and games have been canceled for January 16 and 17. School will resume on Friday, January 19.
Within the Picayune School District, classes will be held for a full day on Tuesday, Jan. 16, but all schools will be closed all day on Jan. 17 and 18.
Schools in the Poplarville School District will release students an hour early on Tuesday, Jan. 16, and be delayed by two hours Wednesday Jan. 17, according to the District’s website.
Heritage Christian Academy will also be closed Wednesday, and will reopen Thursday.
According to a release from Pearl River Community College, “All locations of Pearl River Community College will remain closed until 8 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 18. Day and night classes scheduled for Wednesday are cancelled at all campuses. Residence halls on the Poplarville campus remain open and cafeteria food service will be available for dormitory students. Normal class and office schedules will resume at 8 a.m. Thursday at all locations.”
