Funeral Service will be held Sat., Oct 14, 2017 at 2 pm in St. Matthew Missionary Baptist Church for Mr. Sylvester “Span” Stubbs, Sr., age 81 of Picayune, Mississippi., who died Oct. 6, 2017 at his home.  Dr. Michael Kelly will officiate at the service. 

Burial will be in the Picayune Cemetery under the direction of Baylous Funeral Home.  A native of Bassfield, Mississippi, he was a member of St. Matthew Missionary Baptist Church and a faithful member of the Usher Board until his health failed.

Survivors include; three sons, Shun Stubbs, Sylvester Stubbs, Jr., Chase Stubbs, all of Picayune, Mississippi; sixdaughters, Laura Holloway, Stacy Dantzler, Theresa Stubbs, Shira Stubbs, Brooklyn Jones, Destiny Stubbs, all of Picayune Mississippi.; two granddaughters, one grandson, six great grand children; three sisters, Marie Coleman, Hilda Sims, both of Kenner, Louisiana, Martha Roseman of Chicago, Illinois; one brother, Hershey Stubbs, Las Vegas, Nevada.  

Preceding him in death, his wife, Martha Stubbs; parents, Carsie and Hattie Stubbs; two brothers, Sammie Lee Stubbs and Carsie Stubbs Jr.; two sisters, Mary Jane Carraway and Mary Lou Johnson.  Visitation Sat., Oct. 14, 2017 at 1 pm at St. Matthew Missionary Baptist Church under the direction of Baylous Funeral Home.
