Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 7, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at New Hebron Baptist Church. Pastor K. Martin Thomas will officiate at the services. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time. Melvin De’mond Tillman was born to the late Melvin Tillman and Michelle Fields on September 24, 1992 in Picayune, Mississippi. He was a graduate of Pearl River Central High School, Class of 2010. Melvin graciously departed this life Tuesday morning, September 26, 2017 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: 2 Timothy 4:7.
He leaves to cherish many memories, his loving mother, Michelle Fields of Picayune, Mississippi; grandmother, Betty Tillman of Poplarville, Mississippi; god sister, Jamaica Hart; six godmothers, Paulette Smith, Sharon Billott, Pamela Haynes, Renee Buford, Rosemary White and Evelyn Calhoun; six aunts, Joyce Rochel of Las Vegas, Nevada, Lelia Mae Williams of Magee, Mississippi, Debra (Rev. Phillip) McSwain of Gulfport, Mississippi, Denise Mark of Picayune, Mississippi, Annett Tubbs of Gulfport, Mississippi and Shirley Colliers; three great aunts, Leona Rochel of Oakland, California, Bobbie Nell Smith and Lillie Walker both of Jackson, Mississippi.
Seven uncles, James (Valarie) Walker of San Antonio, Texas, Michael Walker of Atlanta, Georgia and Lovelle Walker of Los Angeles, California, Gregory Tillman, Bernard McGill, Rev. James McGill and Archie McGill all of Poplarville, Mississippi; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends. Interment will be at a later date. Entrusted to Brown’s Funeral Home.
