Funeral service will be held Oct. 7, 2017 at 12 noon in Pilgrim Bound Missionary Baptist Church for Mrs. Irene Anderson Parker age 84 of Picayune, Mississippi, who died Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2017 in Picayune, Mississippi. Eulogy by Rev. Michael Kelly, assisted by Rev. Henry Marshall. Burial in the Picayune Cemetery under the direction of Baylous Funeral Home.
A native of Amite, Louisiana Mrs. Parker was a Licensed Practical Nurse at Crosby Memorial Hospital for 40 years. She was a longtime active member of Pilgrim Bound M.B. Church where she served faithfully as Sunday School Teacher, Adult Women #2, Advisor to women’s Intermediate Auxiliary, Bible Teacher for the local, District A State Senior Women Auxiliary Mission until her health began to fail her.
Left to cherish her memory four daughters Gretchen N. Parker, Tatia S. Parker both of Picayune, Mississippi, Yvette C. Parker of Houston, Texas., Felicia Royce Spinks of Meridian, Mississippi, four sons Ivan Lynn Parker of Mobile, Alabama, David Earl (Vernadine) Parker of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, Eric Newton Parker of Picayune, Mississippi, Alan Christopher (Cynthia) Parker of Richmond, Virginia, 21 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren,
Her spiritual daughter and son Edna Parker, Hollie (Penny) Gutter and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded her in death, her husband, Albert C. Parker, mother Mary Smith Jackson, brother Walter Hardy Anderson, sister, Noble Ruth Jones. Visitation will be Sat. Oct 7, 2017 from 10 am until 12 noon in Pilgrim Bound Baptist Church under the direction of Baylous Funeral Home.
