Picayune area residents now have access to two decades of hair styling experience at Studio 7 on Sycamore Road.
Located at 822 Suite A, Highway 43 North in Picayune, LaMesa Keeney, owner/stylist, said the business was established after a previous salon business partnership dissolved. Under that partnership, Keeney was the co-owner of the now shuttered Hair Studio 1402.
To prepare the new business, she and her husband, Frank Keeney, put months of work into getting the new business renovated in time to open. She said the work started on Thanksgiving weekend of last year, and wrapped up at the end of December.
Previous to opening her own businesses, Keeney managed a Cost Cutters and SmartStyle. All told, she has 20 years of styling experience. As an independent business owner, she likes having the freedom to make business decisions on her own.
She said that her background has helped her build extensive knowledge in customer service to ensure everyone is satisfied with her services.
In addition to Keeney, the business has another stylist who works at Studio 7 independently. Keeney said she is looking for one more stylist to add to the stylists that work at the studio.
In addition to haircuts, Studio 7 also offers professional coloring, perms, and waxing of the lips and eyebrows, all at competitive rates.
She prides herself on the level of personalization she provides, creating an air of serenity.
“You can come and enjoy our relaxed atmosphere,” Keeney said. “Come in and give us a try.”
Long-term, Keeney plans to add skin services, such as makeup and facials.
While walk-ins are welcome, Keeney prefers that customers make appointments.
The business is open Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Studio 7 is closed on Sunday and Monday.
