Dr. Kelvie Culpepper, Chiropractor at Poplarville Family Chiropractic, takes pride in not only helping patients achieve a good posture, but also helping them live a healthier lifestyle.
“Taking care of your body should be your number one priority. You only got one,” Culpepper said.
At the Poplarville Family Chiropractic, patients receive chiropractic care utilizing the latest technology and research, many of which are not offered anywhere else in the area, Culpepper said.
Being one of only three healthcare providers with 15-watt cold laser therapy, Culpepper has seen many “miracles” happen through the use of this device, she said.
Her husband, a crossfit fanatic, tore his meniscus in his knee, preventing him from engaging in what he loves most, exercising. She said numerous doctors told him he needed surgery, but after multiple treatments of the cold laser therapy, her husband was back to crossfit within four weeks, without surgery.
“I need to be on my game whenever I am helping out a patient. That means I need to be able to offer them the best treatment they can get. That is why we do this and seeing the transformations people go through is more than just a posture change, it’s a life-changer,” Culpepper said.
The Poplarville Family Chiropractic also offers other unique services, including pre and post posture digital x-rays, a hyperbaric chamber and full body vibration machines, she said.
“If you need it, we probably have it. Our goal here is to provide everyone with the treatments they need and more. I am confident that we can treat all your chiropractic needs in house, but if we can’t, I will make sure you do get treated immediately,” Culpepper said.
The Poplarville Family Chiropractic has undergone two expansions since it opened in 2001, and became an advanced healthcare facility for scoliosis in 2008.
Before opening the business, Culpepper did not realize the impact she would have on people’s lives, and in some cases, saving people’s lives.
“One guy, around 52-years-old, came in as a last resort. His family left him and his back was so bad that it was affecting his emotions,” Culpepper said.
A bad back can trigger depression and damage the immune system, Culpepper said.
After a couple of visits, the Poplarville Family Chiropractic staff helped the patient get back on his feet.
In many cases, patients have back problems because of a poor diet. To treat this, Culpepper offers nutrition classes that promote a healthy lifestyle.
“Lots of doctors just see that you have a cold, for example, and give you a pill to take and that’s that. We are not like that here,” Culpepper said. “We will sit down with you, find out what is wrong, treat it and find out other ways to make sure it never comes back again.”
