Poplarville residents now have another place close to home to buy children’s clothes and a variety of other items.
After teaching grades second through fifth the past six years, five in Bogalusa and one in Poplarville, Christi Cheramie said she woke up one morning and decided to open her own business. Since she likes children, she chose to open a children’s clothing store. Inside, shoppers can also find an assortment of items for children, and a few things for adults. From nap mats, to diaper bags, All About Me provides items for the young people in the family.
Cheramie said her goal was to open a store that didn’t compete with existing businesses in Poplarville, which is why she sells mostly children’s clothing.
She has also partnered with a local embroiderer to offer that service to her customers. Items customers would like monogrammed can be dropped off at her store and picked up in about a day.
Charamie also offers vinyl customization of T-shirts at the business, either on the items she offers in the store, or customers can bring in their favorite shirt.
Other items offered at the business include Bridgewater candles, UGG shoes, and jeans from Silver Jeans and Miss Me. Currently she only carries school uniforms for girls, but plans to add a boys selection soon.
Customers can also browse her collection of Lenny & Eva bracelets.
The name of the business began as a joke. Cheramie said one of her daughters fell and hurt herself one day, requesting to go to the hospital. Cheramie said her husband jokingly said that when he hurts himself he doesn’t need a hospital.
That’s when her daughter matter-of-factly said that it’s not about him, “It’s all about me,” Chermaie said. “All kids think it’s about them.”
The business is located at 1403 S. Main Street Suite B1 in Poplarville. All About Me is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Cheramie can be reached at the store by calling 601-746-5067.
