Thursday, staff members at Covenant Health and Rehab in Picayune held a celebration to acknowledge being named Covenant Dove’s 2015 Facility of the Year.
Covenant Dove, who owns the facility, operates 48 nursing facilities in 11 states, Picayune’s Covenant Health and Rehab Administrator Keri Ladner said.
According to previous Item coverage, the Picayune facility has 120 beds and about 140 trained staff members including CNAs, LPNs, RNs and Nurse Practitioners.
Covenant Health and Rehab is a skilled nursing facility providing therapy and long-term care, Ladner said. About 40 percent of the facility’s patients receive short-term care and the remaining 60 percent are long-term care patients, she added.
A variety of departments within the facility provide residents with the care they need, including dietary, social work, admissions, a business office and nursing, previous coverage states. Patients also have the opportunity to participate in activities such as musical entertainment, BINGO, church services, yoga and tai chi, previous coverage states.
The Picayune facility received this same honor in 2009. The awards are given based on customer service surveys, life safety surveys, employee satisfaction and quality of life, Ladner said.
“I’m really proud of our staff and their hard work,” Ladner said. “It takes a team to accomplish this. I’m thankful for each and every one of them.”
