Was my vote counted?

I was very dishearten as a regular voter to show up at the polling place and find myself not on the voting list.
Instead of voting electronically, I had to fill out a paper ballot.
I am personally not comfortable with electronic voting since large number of votes could be manipulated by a few people. I was very uncomfortable Tuesday night giving my paper ballot to a person I do not know.
I use to live in Pennsylvania where paper provisional ballots and absentee ballots are handled with two-person integrity.
The overall experience Tuesday night left me questioning whether my vote would ever be counted. Other questions also abound; will I have to reregister vote in November? Is this what I should expect for future elections? One thing I know for sure, I will be more discriminating in future who I will elect to run our elections.
