Government offices closed in observance of MLK holiday

Monday, local government offices will be closed in observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.
All county and city offices in both Picayune and Poplarville will be closed. Normal business hours will resume on Jan. 19.
There will be no change in the garbage collection schedule this week.
The Poplarville Area Chamber of Commerce will be closed for the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday and reopen Tuesday at 8 a.m.
All county U.S. Postal offices will be closed Monday.
The Margaret Reed Crosby Memorial Library will be closed Monday and reopen Jan. 19 for normal hours.
Both Winn-Dixie locations in Picayune will be open regular hours as well as Claiborne Hill and Walmart.
In Poplarville, both Ramey’s and Greer’s will be open their regular hours Monday.
Several pharmacies will be open regular hours in Picayune including, Picayune Drug Company, City Rexall Drugs, Fred’s Westside, RiteAid, both Walgreens locations and CVS.
In Poplarville, Boone’s Pharmacy, Fred’s Pharmacy and Pearl River Drug Co. will be open regular hours.
First responders throughout the county will be on call.
In Picayune, the annual Martin Luther King parade will begin at 9:30 a.m. at the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, located at 501 Weems St.
According to previous coverage, parade participants can park their cars at Rose of Sharon at 8:30 a.m. where buses will transport them to Pleasant Valley in time for the parade.
