The new Love’s Truck Stop in Poplarville, located off exit 29, will open its doors on Thursday.
The 10,000 square foot store will be accompanied by an Arby’s, said Communications Specialist Kealey Dorian.
Love’s will also have a tire care center on-site for professional drivers. At the center, drivers can get work done on their trucks including belt or hose replacements, brake light replacements, and any other minor services they may require, said Dorian.
However, the tire care center is not scheduled to open for about another week, said Dorian.
The store also has a full range of facilities for truckers who are out on the road including seven showers. The business will also sell small electronics drivers may need such as GPS devices, small T.V.’s and small tools, said Dorian.
“It is essentially a large convenience store,” said Dorian.
The station has 16 fuel dispensers for passenger vehicles, and seven bays for professional drivers, said Dorian.
The store sits on 15 acres of land, with 70 parking spaces for professional drivers, said Dorian.
Currently, Love’s has 46 people employed in the main store, and six in the tire care center.
“We are still looking for three full-time mechanics for the tire care center,” said Dorian.
The store’s official ribbon cutting will take place on June 25 at 10 a.m. Poplarville Mayor Brad Necaise will be in attendance for the ribbon cutting, as well as representatives from the Poplarville Area Chamber of Commerce. Dorian said members of the public are also welcome.
Love’s will be making a $2,000 donation that day, with $1,000 going to Brother’s Keeper and $1,000 going to Excel By 5.
