One person was airlifted to a hospital Tuesday after being injured in a two-vehicle accident on Henleyfield McNeill Road.
The Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department received a call at 12:29 p.m. that day concerning the accident, which occurred about a quarter mile east of Harris Road, Chief Deputy Shane Tucker said.
Tucker said a red Dodge Ram pickup truck, driven by a 16- year-old, along with a juvenile passenger, was heading westbound on Henleyfield McNeill Road when the driver attempted to make a left turn into a dirt lot. At that time, a Ford F-150 driven by Eugene Bourgeis, 68, of Ada Mark Rd., Sandy Hook, Miss., collided with the Dodge, Tucker said.
Bourgeis was airlifted by helicopter to Forrest General Hospital, where his condition remains unknown, Tucker said.
The driver and passenger of the Dodge did not require medical attention as a result of the accident, Tucker said.
