After operating from a number of locations since opening in Picayune, C Spire has found a permanent home at their new state of the art facility on Frontage Road.
C Spire held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday to celebrate the opening of the new 2,500 square foot location. Senior Manager of Media Relations Dave Miller said the new store is a product of more than a year of market research and is designed to accommodate the ever-evolving needs of today’s consumer.
“It’s no longer just a ‘brick and mortar’ building to come in and shop,” said Miller, “The store has evolved into an interactive technology experience for our customers.”
C Spire issued a press release that gives details of the store’s innovative upgrades, which include four separate sections that will help satisfy consumer needs: Live, Work, Play and Explore. In these areas, customers can learn more about various devices and applications that will improve their home, leisure and business environments.
According to the release, in the “Live” section, shoppers will find a display wall of the latest smart technology that can assist them with their home security and personal health. The “Work” section focuses on the products offered by C Spire Business Solutions, while the “Play” category allows guests to enjoy an interactive technological environment where they can learn how different devices and applications function before purchasing them.
The addition of “learning tables” in place of cash register counters will help give a more natural and informal feel to customer service interactions, the release states.
The store’s hands-on design aims to engage shoppers and provide a “try before you buy” customer-inspired service experience, said Market Manager for C Spire in Picayune, Steve Rodgers in the release.
In addition to their new and improved facility, C Spire is also pursuing four new cell tower sites in Pearl River County.
“The goal is to have these towers activated by the end of 2015,” said Miller.
Miller said there are currently 12 cell tower sites in Pearl River County, all of which are up to date with the latest 4G LTE services. The four new cell towers will be built with the same updated technology.
Founded in 1988, C Spire is the largest privately held wireless communication provider in the United States. The company began in Mississippi and is headquartered in Ridgeland. Formerly known as Cellular South, the business officially changed its name to C Spire in 2011.
The new C Spire store is located at 250 Frontage Road in Picayune. C Spire is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
