Wednesday night a Picayune man was arrested for the charge of child molestation.
Picayune Police Assistant Chief Jeremy Magri said the department received a complaint that night that her two-year-old daughter had allegedly been molested.
Officers learned from the mother that the child was complaining of pain in the area of her groin, and noticed her daughter was scratching the area, Magri said.
The child was taken to the hospital where she was examined due to the complaint, Magri said.
Continued investigation led to the identity of an alleged suspect, 58-year-old Charles Certain Sr., of 505 East Fifth St., Magri said.
Certain was charged that night with child molestation and booked into the Criminal Justice Centers, Magri said.
