The Picayune Fire Department responded to a fire at 301 Dozier St. in Picayune Thursday night around 10:34 p.m. where they remained working to get it under control until 1:37 a.m. Friday morning.
A neighbor, Sabrita Gordon, said she opened her door to see where the flashing lights and sirens had stopped, and saw the fire at a residence on the corner of Dozier Street and Manning Street.
Battalion Chief Darren Dennis was on duty at the time and said that the fire was fully involved when they arrived, meaning that flames were shooting out of the roof.
Dennis said one resident was home at the time the fire occurred but she got out of the residence without injuries.
Fire Marshall Pat Weaver said the fire is under investigation to determine a cause.
No other information is available at this time.
