Lois M. Mitchell, 76, of Gautier, Miss., passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2013. She was born June 10, 1937 in Hancock County, Miss.  Mrs. Mitchell was a member of North Gautier Baptist Church. She was the owner and operator of Singing River Day Care in Gautier from 1978-1988.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, Clarence and Ethel Lizana; three brothers: Howard, Lonnie, and Preston Lizana; sister, Linda Cox.

She is survived by: her husband of 59 years, Jack F. Mitchell; daughter and three sons, Claudia Ann Ferrer, Dallas, Texas; Mark Mitchell (Cheryl), David Mitchell (Nina), and Scott Mitchell (Alyson), all of Gautier; sister, Louise Brewer (Dwight), Gulfport; eight grandchildren: Wes and Alyssa Ferrer, Adam and Meaghan Mitchell, Haley and Zack Mitchell, Hayden and Hunter Mitchell.

Funeral Service will be Friday, June 28, 2013, 2 p.m., at North Gautier Baptist Church on Gautier-Vancleave Road in Gautier. Friends may visit from 12 noon- 2 p.m. at the church. Graveside service will follow at 5 p.m. in Gipson Cemetery in Picayune, Miss.
