Funeral Services for James B Walker, Sr., 84, of Picayune, Miss., who passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2013, will be held Friday, March 22, 2013, at 2 p.m. at New Palestine Baptist Church.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 21, 2013 from 6-9 p.m. at McDonald Funeral Home.
Burial will be in New Palestine Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.
The Rev. Josh Braddy will officiate the service, assisted by the Rev. Allen Hickman.
A native of Picayune, he was owner operator of Walker’s Body Shop since 1969. Jimmy enjoyed model airplanes, gardening, fishing, and he enjoyed his church. He was a lifetime member and served many times as deacon at New Palestine Baptist Church. Jimmy lived longer than any other Walker family member in the past.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Buford Walker and Dora Sones Walker; his daughter, Kimberly Dawn Quick; his grandson, Collin Dugas; and his sister, Jean Rose.
Survivors include: his wife of 56 years, Lyndol Howard Walker; his children: James Buford “Jim” Walker Jr., John Walker and wife Keri, and Rhonda Dugas and husband Keith, and James A. Walker; nine grandchildren, Tiffany, Stephanie, Allen, Nathan, Drew, Lindsey, Hannah, Hayden, and Anna Rose; eight great-grandchildren; and his brothers and sister, Tommy Walker and wife Mary, Bobby Walker and wife Wanda, and Joyce Northern; and his brother-in-law, Lee Rose.
