Police need help identifying murder victim

Gulfport police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a woman whose body was found near a worn path in the woods off River Road.

She is white, about 35-45 years old and 5-feet-6-inches tall. She weighs about 225 pounds.

She has blonde hair, blue eyes and a small tattoo on her right foot and was wearing a gold necklace with a pendant on it with the name “Pamela.”

Chief Alan Weatherford said the body was discovered about 11 a.m. by a resident of the area who was walking on the path.

The cause of death has not been released.

Weatherford says police are treating the death as a homicide.
