The Greater Picayune Area Chamber of Commerce still has a number of tickets available for the Police and Fireman’s banquet.
Chamber Director April Lovelace said the chamber is also looking for sponsors of both the event and tickets for to help honor the local police and firemen.
“We have all been made aware of the bravery and dedication of both the police officers and firefighters in their service to protect our lives and property. This is our opportunity to say ‘Thank You’’,” Lovelace said.
Event sponsors will receive advertisement on the Chamber’s website, the event program and during a slide show before and after the event, Lovelace said. She said she still needs 18 more event sponsors to equal the support received last year. The price to be an event sponsor is $125.
Ticket sponsors help ensure a police officer or firefighter and their guest can attend the event free of charge. Lovelace said she also needs 18 more ticket sponsors to equal last year’s support. Anyone wishing to be a ticket sponsor can do so for $60.
Community members who wish to attend the event themselves can purchase a ticket from the chamber for $30 per seat.
Tickets and sponsorship will be available until April 13, and are available at the Chamber office on U.S. 11, Lovelace said.
For those who would like to purchase tickets online, they can do so by visiting the Chamber’s website and clicking on the link under the Police and Fireman’s Banquet event and follow the instructions provided under the next link entitled “Register Now.” Payment can be sent to the address listed in the instructions.
This will be the 29th annual banquet to honor the emergency responders in the Picayune area.
“I think it’s a great achievement of the business community to have continued the police and fireman’s banquet for 29 years,” Lovelace said.
Lovelace is also looking to the business community to help provide a plethora of door prizes, which will be given to the emergency responders during the banquet.
“We would like every police and fireman to win something at the banquet,” Lovelace said.
The banquet will be held on April 21, at the Link on Goodyear Boulevard. Doors will open at 6 p.m. and the event will begin promptly at 6:30, Lovelace said.
