Authorities have identified a man struck and killed by a train on the Gulf Coast.

Harrison County Coroner Gary Hargrove said 37-year-old Shawn Campbell was killed after he attempted to beat an oncoming train Saturday night. Hargrove says Campbell had been running with a friend when they reached the railroad tracks.

Campbell was struck and killed by the train. Hargrove says the victim was pronounced dead on the scene and suffered multiple blunt force injuries.
