Both of Mississippi’s U.S. senators traveled overseas during Easter break to assess national security.
Republican Thad Cochran went to Kosovo with four other senators to visit a NATO peacekeeping force that includes more than 600 soldiers from North Dakota.
Republican Roger Wicker joined three other senators and two U.S. representatives on a trip to the Middle East and Europe.
Wicker’s office says the group went to Quatar and Yemen to assess terrorism and nuclear threats, then to Europe to meet with leaders in NATO nations to discuss nuclear proliferation and modernization, the spread of radical Islam in western Europe and counterterrorism efforts.
