The state has approved Sunday liquor and wine sales in Columbus.
On-premises alcohol sales are allowed Mondays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1:30 a.m. and on Sundays from 10 a.m. to midnight.
The Columbus City Council on Sept. 2 voted to send a petition to the state Alcohol Beverage Control agency requesting the city be allowed to extend its on-premises weekday alcohol sales and to sell wine and liquor on Sundays.
The Commercial Dispatch in Columbus reports the ABC, which is part of the state Tax Commission, approved request Tuesday.
The city previously allowed the sale of alcohol only from 10 a.m. to 1 a.m. Mondays through Saturdays.
