Prosecutors say lost evidence in the Moss Point Police Department and uncooperative witnesses have resulted in the dismissal of capital murder charges against two Jackson County men.
Terrance Jerrell Coleman and Lederrick Raphel Brown, both of Moss Point, were set for trial this month for the 2006 shooting deaths of Gary Riley and Brandon Taylor.
Coleman remains in the county jail on unrelated charges. Brown was released Monday.
Taylor and Riley were shot and killed while sitting in a vehicle in a Moss Point subdivision.
Prosecutors say police had lost jail audio recordings, 911 tapes, autopsy photographs and shell casings. They say witnesses have also refused to testify.
