Picayune City Council meets Tuesday

The Picayune City council meets at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the council’s chambers at the new city hall, 815 N. Beech St.

Consider the consent agenda:
— Minutes of the Jan. 6 meeting.
— December privilege license report.
— December public records requests.
— Planning Commission minutes of Dec. 9 and Jan. 13.
Consider the docket.
Consider petitions and communications:
— Main Street request to held egg drop at the airport on March 28.
— Request from Girl Scouts to use front parking lot of city hall for cookie delivery on Feb. 17 and 18.
— Request from Carver Planning committee for a parade in conjunction with school reunion on July 3.
– Update from Siemens and Pedal Valve.
Consider new business:
— Request to loan box bailer to Picayune Industries.
— Agreement to continue with Mississippi Main Street Assoc.’s Main Street program in 2009.
— Color ad for $995 in Here’s Pearl River County magazine.
— Mayor, city council and interim city manager to attend Municipal League conference in Jackson, Jan. 26-29.
— Monthly budget report.
— Open checking account for funds received from debt service millage.
— Two-year depository participation bids from Hancock Bank, Bank Plus and First Southern.
— Pay final invoice to Kanduit Construction for work at Intermodal Center.
— Request from Habitat for Humanity to subdivide and variance for property at 401 and 403 Haugh Ave.
