A 22-year-old man was killed when he tried to ride an all-terrain vehicle across a Mississippi highway.

Blake Mills of Lucedale died Sunday morning at an Alabama hospital.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol says Mills had been riding an ATV along a trail that runs next to Highway 57 in George County on Saturday night when he tried to cross the highway and was struck by a truck.

Mills was taken to George County Hospital then flown to USA Medical Center in Mobile where he died.
