Freddy and Lisa James invite you to share their antiques and family heirlooms in their New Orleans style home located at 62 Delacroix Dr. in Picayune. Freddy and Lisa built their dream home in 2007.
The sights of the Christmas season will envelope you as you walk up on the Old St. Louis Bricked porch, lit by gas lanterns, to the beautiful leaded glass entry door of their home surrounded by evergreens and a sparkling burgundy and gold ribbon wreath.
As you walk into their home you will see their dining room on the right which features an antique Duncan Fife dining table. The puddling draperies and dining chairs are covered with New Orleans themed toile fabric. The decorative glass jars are filled with Freddy James’ Grandmother’s antique glass ornaments. Their beautiful 1914 antique cherry wood mantel hangs just above the wayne’s coating surrounding the dining room.
On the left of the foyer is the office displaying a beautiful cherry wood desk. Above the desk is a mirror displaying unique red glass ornaments hanging from glittering gold ribbon.
Each room has its own unique Christmas tree. As you walk into the den from the beautiful bricked archway foyer you will see a towering 12 foot spruce Christmas tree decorated with porcelain dolls, mini chandeliers, tassels, and beautiful embroidered ribbon.
Freddy and Lisa’s master bedroom is filled with porcelain dolls. One doll per month was given to Lisa from Freddy on their anniversary date for the entire first year of their marriage.
Their youngest daughter’s room displays an 1890 antique youth sleigh bed purchased from a plantation home. Her antique dresser was purchased from the Picayune Street Fair in 2007. The child size Christmas tree is filled with Hummel porcelain ornaments.
As you continue the tour you will see a bright and colorful Christmas tree filled with peacock feathers and colorful ornaments and silver glittered ribbon fit especially for their teenage daughter’s room.
The kitchen filled with cherry wood cabinets features a magnificent over the stove mantel that is sure to capture anyone’s eye. Off the kitchen is a sitting room that features a Christmas tree filled with antique demi tas and bone china tea cups nestled next to an antique mantel purchased from an old home in New Orleans.
As you ascend the wooden staircase off the kitchen you will walk into Freddy James’ theater room which brings memories to him of the Pic and Ritz theaters once opened in the heart of Picayune.
A stroll outside the kitchen door reveals a beautiful pool house filled with palm tree decor, a built-in pool and an Old St. Louis bricked cabana used to cool off on those hot summer days.
The James wish to invite you to join them this year for the 2008 Pilgrimage and want to wish you and yours a blessed Christmas!
