A local woman recently was incorrectly arrested on a sale of controlled substance warrant because her name is similar to that of the suspect.

Apolice report stated that Carmen Michelle Famularo, 42, of 176 Grover Barrett Rd., was arrested a warrant for sale of a controlled substance.

Famularo said she was released that same day without bond because the department had the wrong person.

Picayune Police Public Relations Officer Capt. Theresa Milar said that Famularo’s arrest was based on her name being used in error. Apparently there are two Famularos in the community and once the department learned it had the wrong one, Carmen Famularo was released with no charges against her.
