A Biloxi man has been sentenced to life in prison for murder in a 2006 shooting at a D’Iberville mobile home park.
John Peter Muise was convicted Wednesday in Harrison County Circuit Court. Circuit Judge Steve Simpson ordered the life sentence.
Prosecutors said Muise, 32, shot and killed Jeremy Magrette, 31, of D’Iberville, on Feb. 1, 2006.
Assistant District Attorney Beth McFadyen said a witness testified that Muise went into Magrette’s mobile home and shot the other man.
Defense attorneys contended that while Muise was at the scene when the shooting occurred, another person shot Magrette. Magrette died at Biloxi Regional Medical Center.
