Gulfport woman pleads guilty to Katrina fraud

A Gulfport woman pleaded guilty to hurricane disaster-relief fraud and faces five years in prison, the U.S. attorney’s office said Monday.
Amanda Rettig will be sentenced April 25 and could also be fined up to $250,000.
She pleaded guilty to filing a false claim with the Federal Emergency Management Agency saying her property was damaged by Hurricane Katrina. She submitted a false address in Saucier.
She received $22,253.23, a statement from U.S. Attorney Dunn Lampton said.
