Roy Mitchell Carney, Sr.

Memorial services will be held Thursday, January 4, 2007 at 7 p.m. in the Picayune Funeral Home Chapel for Roy Mitchell Carney, Sr., 62, of Carriere, who died Saturday, December 30, 2006 in Jackson.

A native of Picayune, he was a used car dealer, a Baptist, and a member of the Knights of Pythians.

Survivors include two sons: Roy M. Carney, Jr. of Picayune, and Michael Ray Carney of Necaise; two daughters: Deborah L. Johnson of Nicholson, and Rhonda Carney Guillot of Carriere; two brothers: Billy and Enos; five sisters: Lois, Edith, Hilda, Jeannie and Marion; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Troy M. Carney, and his sister, Mae Schonwitz.

Picayune Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be Picayune Funeral Home from 6-7 p.m. Thursday, January 4, 2007.
