Jean S. Kennedy

Funeral Services for Jean S. Kennedy, 86 of Carriere, Miss., who passed away Sunday, December 15, 2013, will be held, Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Central Baptist Church, McNeil.

Visitation will be Wednesday, December 18, 2013 from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Central Baptist Church.

Burial will be in McNeill Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.

Bro. Billy Galloway will officiate the service.

A native of McNeill, MS, she was a Post Mistress and a member of Central Baptist Church. She was the Post Mistress at the McNeill Post Office for nearly 30 years. Jean and her husband, E. W. “Dub” Kennedy, were founding members of Central Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister who will be truly missed. Jean was an avid gardener and loved to travel.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Autamus Henry Smith and Ida Ruth Cranford Smith; her loving husband of over 49 years, E.W. “Dub” Kennedy; her son, Steven E. Kennedy; her grandchild, Damon E. Smith; her sister, Margie Stockstill.

Survivors include: her daughter, Glenda Smith and husband Don; two grandchildren, Ashley Breland and husband Drew, Steven J. Smith and wife Amy; her six great-grandchildren, Brennan Smith, Jacob Smith, Jordan Smith, Kayla Breland, Cody Breland, Ryan Breland; her sister, Dot Harris and husband Fritz.
