Poplarville Police Department officers responded to a domestic call that allegedly took place Sunday evening.

Poplarville Police Chief Butch Raby said officers were sent to the area at about 5:30 p.m. When they arrived at the residence, located at 3 Shenandoah Road, they spoke with one residents, 40-year-old William Josh Hudson. While speaking with him officers ran his information through dispatch, discovering he had 3 outstanding warrants with the Pearl River County Sherriff’s Department, Raby said.

Officers then conducted a search of Hudson’s person and recovered a sock containing a pair of pliers and an asthma inhaler from his his pants pocket.

Inside the inhaler, officers recovered a plastic bag containing a clear crystal rock-like substance believed to be crystal methamphetamine, Raby said.

Officers also recovered a small amount of a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana.

Hudson was then arrested for felony possession of controlled substance and simple possession of marijuana, Raby said.

Hudson was then transported to the Pearl River County jail. He was also arrested for the warrants with the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department for driving without insurance, driving with a suspended driver’s license and possession of a controlled substance, Raby said.
