Complaint leads to drug arrests

Investigation into drug-related activity by the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department narcotics division led to the arrest of two people Friday.
Pearl River County’s Sheriff’s Department Chief Deputy Shane Tucker said that the investigation began with a community tip concerning illegal narcotics activity in the area.
On Feb. 23, at 6:45 p.m., the department conducted a search on a home located at 1219 Fern Dr. and 3199 Jackson Landing Rd. Apt, A-7.
A team comprised of investigators and deputies from the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department, Lamar County law enforcement officials and Picayune Police Department narcotics detectives and police officers were sent to both locations simultaneously.
Joe McDonald, 43 and Craig McDonald, 38 were arrested after the team recovered cocaine, oxycodone, marijuana and a hand gun from their apartment on 1219 Fern Drive. Joe was arrested for possession of crack cocaine and oxycodone with intent to distribute and possession of marijuana. Craig was arrested for possession of paraphernalia.
The second team recovered drug paraphernalia from the Nicholson Arms Apartment but since no one was present at the apartment during the search no arrests were made.
