Picayune Police Department arrests woman for possessing drugs

The Picayune Police Department recently arrested a woman for drug related offenses including possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute and possession of paraphernalia.
According to a press release from the Picayune Police Department, an officer was dispatched to Walmart on Nov. 11 at about 6:39 a.m. in reference to a possible drug overdose.
The officer arrived to find a black Chevy truck parked in front of the nearby gas station occupied by two male individuals and Samantha Nicole Johnson, 19, 30 Deer Meadow Rd., Sumrall.
While approaching the vehicle, the officer observed Johnson moving incessantly in the backseat of the truck before exiting the vehicle while holding his chest and crying out.
The male told the patrolman he had chronic seizures and had just suffered one, which caused him to black out and suffer chest pains, the release states. An ambulance arrived to the scene and transported the man to Highland Community Hospital for treatment.
Afterwards, the patrolman spoke with the driver, who stated he was giving Johnson and the man a ride to Slidell, La., when the man blacked out. At that point the driver noticed they had paraphernalia in their possession and called the police.
The patrolman then conducted a search of the vehicle and in the backseat where Johnson’s purse was sitting, the patrolman found three spoons containing a burnt residue, six empty syringes commonly used to inject a controlled substance, one syringe containing a brown liquid substance believed to be heroin and a black case containing nine small plastic bags containing a brown powder substance believed to be heroin, the release states. Johnson was then arrested for possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute and possession of paraphernalia, the release states.
