Stennis Space Center provides many job opportunities to Pearl River County, Hancock County and the other surrounding areas, one of those opportunities is working for Rolls-Royce.

Rolls-Royce held its 10th anniversary on Friday morning where Mississippi Senator Roger Wicker discussed how Stennis not only provides a major economic boost to southern Mississippi, but to the entire state.

According to Rolls-Royce General Manager of the testing facility at Stennis, Hamish Guthrie, the company employs 46 people locally, and expects that number to rise in the future due to the demand of the company’s aircraft engines.

At the same time, Stennis Space Center is home to over 40 other companies, such as Lockheed Martin, Aerojet Rocketdyne, RiverTech, Saitech and many more.

With the current high demand of products from these companies, we can only expect these companies to grow in the near future, allowing them to provide more opportunities for anyone in the area who is interested in a job that is high paying and highly skilled to find that work.

Private contractors in Stennis not only boost the state’s economy, but also help provide those highly-skilled individuals to the rest of the world.

An employee at Rolls-Royce may start out working at Stennis and next thing they know, they’re being sent to help with a project in another testing facility in either Canada, Germany or the United Kingdom.

Stennis provides many opportunities to individuals in southern Mississippi to work close to home and at the same time, to work in the career they may have never imagined.
