Funeral Services for Effie O. Lewis, age 92, of McNeill, Mississippi,, who passed away Thursday, September 7, 2017, will be held Sunday, September 10, 2017, at 3:00 pm at McDonald Funeral Home Chapel.

Visitation will be Sunday, September 10, 2017 from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm at McDonald Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Lewis Family Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.

Bro. Cedric Lumpkin will officiate the service, assisted by Bro. Billy Ferrel.

A native of Pearl River County, Mississippi, she was a retired seamstress at Movie Star and a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church. Effie was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend, who will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert Wilson Spiers and Effie Myrtle Coleman Spiers; her husband of 69 years, J. W. Lewis; her sisters, Ruby Dale Spiers, and Virginia Lee; and her brothers, Harmer Spiers, George Spiers, Daniel Spiers, Guy Spiers, and Roland Spiers.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Effie E. James, Julie (Billy Frank) Brown, Marilyn (Wayne) Bonner, Hubert W. “Bill” (Iris) Lewis, Clarence Sylvester (Lillian) Lewis, and John Paul (Liz) Lewis; 10 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and her sisters, Sylvia (James) Barnes, and Elsie V. Walker.
