A number of power outages were reported in Pearl River County late Thursday morning as isolated storms moved through the area.
Coast Electric customers in the Salem and Leetown area lost power for several hours after lightning struck underground transformers in two separate locations, Coast Electric Communications Specialists Melissa Russo and April Lollar said.
From 12:21 to 6:04 p.m. about 150 members were with out power, they said.
Russo said the outages were minimal and scattered throughout those communities.
Due to the summer storms that roll through the area, these types of outages are common, Russo said.
