The Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department arrested a Poplarville man in relation to two auto burglaries in the Ozona area.
Monday morning at about 7 a.m., deputies responded to a call of a suspicious person at Mark’s Auto on Highway 11, Chief Investigator Marc Ogden said.
When deputies arrived on scene, they found two vehicles parked behind the auto mechanic shop that appeared to have been burglarized, Ogden said.
The vehicles appeared to be missing miscellaneous items, including speakers and stereo equipment, he said.
Through the course of an investigation, Ogden said a suspect was seen in the area traveling on foot.
Deputies were able to locate the suspect, identified as Conner Baker, 21, of Poplarville, and take him into custody, Ogden said.
Baker was arrested for two counts of auto burglary and taken to the Pearl River County jail where he is currently being held.
Deputies recovered all of the stolen items, which Baker allegedly dropped at the scene, he said.
