Jan Marlene Calvin Elliott

Jan Marlene Calvin Elliott, 65, died at her home on, Wednesday, November 16, 2016 in Brooksville, Florida, due to natural causes and was cremated.
Jan was born in Leakesville, Greene County, Miss., on January 27, 1951, to Clima Glynn Merritt. Jan was adopted by Marshall Young Calvin in 1955 and eventually moved with her parents, Marshall and Glynn Calvin, to Picayune, Pearl River County, Miss. where she grew up and attended Picayune Memorial High School, graduating with the Class of 1969.
After marrying and having two children, Jan graduated from PRCC in 1984 with a degree in Cosmetology. She practiced as a cosmetologist until she retired from the profession in 2012.
Jan remarried later in life and moved to Brooksville, Fla. with her husband Michael Elliott.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John David Merritt, Sr. both of McLain, Greene County, Miss.; maternal uncles, John David Merritt, II and Allison (Tode) Merritt, both of Greene County, Miss.; maternal aunt, Deloris (Merritt) Breland, of Picayune, Pearl River County, Miss.; maternal cousins, Anthony Kittrell, George Merritt, Dempsey Merritt, Alan Breland, Tammye Marie (Cowart) Burnett, all of Greene County, Miss.; adoptive father, Marshall Young Calvin, of Jackson, Hinds County, Miss.; and granddaughter, Mikelah Joy Foxworth.
She is survived by her mother, Clima Glynn (Merritt) Calvin, resident of Greene Rural Health Center, Leakesville, Greene County, Miss.; her husband of 13 years, Michael W. Elliott of Brooksville, Fla.; her son, James Randall (Randy) Foxworth and wife Barb of Biloxi, Miss.; her daughter, Marisa Foxworth Amann and husband Jeff of Brooksville, Fla.; her grandson, Brent Culpepper of Brooksville, Fla.; her granddaughter, Kelsea Amann of Brooksville, Fla.; maternal aunts, I.V. (Merritt) Kittrell and Voncile (Merritt) Cowart; her half-sister, Danita (Calvin) Redd and husband, Larry, of Jackson, Miss.  She is also survived by numerous maternal cousins, many acquaintances and few close friends known to her throughout her 65 years.
May the Holy One, Blessed is He, comfort all who knew Jan Calvin Elliott, in remembrance and celebration of her life rather than mourning her death. Remember the good times shared with her. L’Chaim (To Life)!!!!!
