OBIT Deborah Russo Dorris

Deborah Russo Dorris, resident of Picayune, MS and native of New Orleans, LA, passed away on July 13, 2016 at the age of 65 years old.
Deborah, who retired from Entergy in New Orleans after a lengthy career, had a passion for her Catholic beliefs and frequently volunteered with the Pro-Life Ministry and the Stewards of Mercy at the Center of Jesus the Lord in New Orleans.
She is the daughter of Albertine Russo Calo of Covington, LA and the late Joseph A. Russo.
She is survived by her loving husband Paul Dorris; her brother John Russo and his wife Tammy and
two much-loved nieces Ellie and Emily; and her sister Gail Russso Stein. She is also survived by close-knit family circle including her cousin Joseph DiGiovanni, whom she loved as a brother; his wife Judy; daughter Julie; Aunt JoAnn Williams (Nan); cousin Michele Theriot, her husband Mike; and their daughters Monique and Macie.
Deborah will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her but we know she is finally free from suffering after a courageous 4 1/2 year long battle with breast cancer. She was an inspiration to all who met her with her fierce determination, strength and positive attitude even in her darkest hour.
She has donated her body to the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. Private family memorial. A special thanks to her dear friend Father Michael Snyder and Camellia Hospice in Picayune.
