Picayune Police officers worked two cases that involved drug related charges earlier this month.
According to reports filed with the department, the first case took place on Feb. 1, just after 1:30 that afternoon.
While working an unrelated case, officers noticed 40-year-old Clifford Jason Stockstill of 77 Ulman Stockstill Road attempt to leave the scene upon seeing officers approach.
The report states Stockstill was detained, and a check for warrants followed.
While waiting on dispatch to advise if Stockstill had outstanding warrants, the officer noticed him act nervously, leading to a pat-down for officer safety that found several syringes filled with a clear liquid.
The report states that a field test of the liquid determined it to allegedly be methamphetamine, leading him to be charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute within 1,500 feet of a school or church and possession of paraphernalia.
The second case took place on Feb. 5, just after 10 a.m. where officers came into contact with 22-year-old Julia Junlei Kaolelopono of 41 Oak Drive.
While on patrol, officers observed a vehicle occupied by Kaolelopono, who was suspected to have warrants out for her arrest.
Once the officers confirmed she did have a warrant for shoplifting, a stop was conducted, the report states.
During the stop the officers searched the vehicle and found a spoon with a residue suspected to be from the use of methamphetamine and a piece of foil containing a small rock-like substance suspected to be methamphetamine, leading her to be charged with possession of a controlled substance, the report states.
